  • Do you only work in the Columbia area ?

No, we do projects throughout the state of South Carolina.

  • Do you do residential work?

We focus on commercial projects, but will at times do residential when it is for one of our repeat commercial customers.

  • Will Sacon do repairs and maintenance for commercial properties?

Yes, alongside our Construction Division we have a Repair and Maintenance Division for general repairs, maintenance, or scheduled preventative maintenance for buildings along with all plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs and maintenance.

  • Do you provide maintenance programs?

Yes, we provide preventative maintenance for HVAC units, and scheduled maintenance for parking lot lighting, along with scheduled maintenance for commercial properties along with pump stations, backflow preventers, kitchen equipment, lift stations, exhaust fans, and much more.

  • How is Sacon different from other general contractors?

One area is that the majority of our work is done by our Team rather than using subcontractors. We have found that it helps to keep the projects on schedule and to provide better quality.

  • What are the licenses that Sacon hold?

We have a Commercial General Contractors license. We also have Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical licenses.

  • When do you use subcontractors?

Some areas we use subcontractors are for commercial roofing, fire sprinkler systems , and commercial storefronts. We have built relationships with select vendors that provide quality work and competitive pricing that we are able to pass on to our customers.

  • Are you able to help with designing a project?

We provide in house CAD design , and work with select architects when plans require an architect to review and stamp the drawings.

  • Does Sacon only do Commercial upfits and remodeling?

No, we also do new construction from the ground up and anything in between that is commercial.

  • Do you repair roof leaks and water infiltration?

We don’t do repairs to prevent water infiltration, but we will repair what was damaged due to the water infiltration.

  • Should you have a preventative maintenance agreement to perform quarterly service on a commercial HVAC system?

Yes, you should employ a licensed HVAC contractor to do a scheduled check-up and maintenance for each season. Think of the system like a car and changing the oil. If you don’t do the service then you will have problems in the future that can have a heavy price to fix.

  • Do you need to get building permits for a commercial construction project?

Yes, and only a licensed General Contractor can apply and get a permit.

  • Can I do a commercial renovation and still stay open for business?

Yes, most of the time. The project can be constructed in phases to allow flexibility for the business owner to stay open during construction. We completed a restaurant renovation in this way.

  • Who makes the design for the renovation?

It works both ways. Either you have to look for a contractor that also offers design services, or you have to find your designer and a separate contractor.
